I'll Be Home For Christmas

The motto for most of us this year....I'll be home for Christmas.

Mostly as a journal entry, I wanted to share my Christmas around our home simply with photos. But, since we won't be having company this year, I also wanted to invite you in for a virtual visit. Welcome!
City at dawn from inside the condo.
Coffee or tea in the morning.
A dusting of snow on neighboring hillside across city bridge decked with wreaths.
Curious rabbit seeing what balcony buddies and the city beyond are up to.
Little lights tucked in so many places!
These are a few of my favorite ornaments.
I finally scored a Drosselmeyer and Mouse King (top rt) to add to my Nutcracker collection this year.
Poinsettias purchased through a ballet fundraiser.
Curio cabinet contents
Utilitarian spaces
Random vignettes
Curio cabinet contents in my office
Little felties (owl, gnome, heart) from Jeanie mix and mingle in my office.
Master bedroom
The Greatest Gift
Thank you so much for stopping by! Have yourself a merry little Christmas!πŸŽ„

  5. Rita, I love your virtual tour.My eye went right to your cloche full of baby cups sitting on a vintage doilie. Then I really liked your ballerina ornament so appropriate since you were one.
You have an awesome view from your condo for sunrises. I'm so glad you bought some of your garden statuary.
That is the cutest clothes line hanging in the laundry room. I had to get my iPad to zoom in to see all the details.
I really enjoyed your tour. Everything looks festive and so well done. I'm sitting here looking at boxes of decorations that haven't been done.
    Have a great weekend.

  6. Ahhh, so much to look at that I have to go back and peek again! I love your plaid mugs, the garland over kitchen cupboards and especially the view you have off your balcony. All of your little touches are so festive and joyful and i love how you are decorating your entry way for each season. I spy the funny bunny, too - he has the best view!! Happy holidays!!

  7. Rita, as we'll all be home for Christmas, it's nice to see that you and W will enjoy the holidays among a festive setting. I think it is important for us to make our homes feel festive and joyful even if no one else will be there to take it all in. Your view stops me mid scroll every time. Something about being up with the birds to take in the vista!!! Your tartan coffee/tea station catches my attention, and love those cute stamped spoons! I see Santa's wooly friend is still helping him deliver gifts! Made me smile! The cloche full of baby cups, the dancing ballerina, your beautiful holiday pillows, . . . and could go on and on about the festive touches you have added! Well done, Rita! I'm so happy to see this photo tour!
    Merry, Merry!!!

  9. I am enchanted with every photo, Rita. It's simply beautiful, every room, every vignette. Your tree is just magnificent. Thanks for showing my felties, too! I know you will have a most beautiful Christmas, even if it's different than the ones before -- and hopefully, the ones to come after! Merriest!

  10. Oh, Rita - what a lovely curated special Christmas splash this is. I like you have such an ecletic style. Everything looks so festive and warm. Love it.

Grats on scoring Mouse King and Drosselmeyer for your collection. That couldn't have been easy to find.

I agree your stamped silver spoon says it all- yes, ma'am, we will be home for Christmas. Safe and sound and cozy - enjoy wonderful "visits" such as this one to whet our appetites for togetherness. Hugs.

    1. Joy, thank you so much for coming to my virtual open house! I'm happy you enjoyed it. My balcony buddies are what I brought with me from my previous landscape when we downsized to condo living last year, and I enjoy them too.

  12. Hi there, Rita! Long time no talk! I’m so glad to see so many people still engaged with the happiness of the season rather than dwelling on what we’re missing. To create a warm, inviting Christmas space despite...the sign of a real trooper! To make use of something bright and cheery in every corner really brightens the whole place. I do the same. My husband was amazed by the very thought of it years ago but has since come to embrace it.πŸ™ƒ

I love your nutcracker collection! I’m just now kinda getting into them. One creeped me out decades ago, and I’ve been afraid of them ever since!!!πŸ˜† Now I’m enjoying the diversity in them. That shot of the bridge is super!!! I love how the city has decorated along the way for drivers’ (and condo dwellers’!) pleasure.

    Have a happy season!

  16. Sometimes the little bits and pieces make the whole picture--you have so many pretty decorations, collections, and vignettes, all beautifully photographed. I love how you arranged them in your post. Your dawn picture is simply awesome, what a spectacular view!

    Happy Holidays, Rita. πŸŽ„

  17. Rita, my Daddy’s favorite Christmas song is I’ll Be Home For Christmas. He said it was quite popular when he was serving in the Korean War. Every area of your home sparkles with Christmas. I love every vignette, but I am most partial to your nativity and the nutcrackers. Your views of the bridge are spectacular and the reflection of your tree is magical. Wishing you a most wonderful time of the year!

  23. So much gorgeousness to drink in, Rita. Why, I think one could enjoy many beautiful hours just strolling around your home and looking at each pretty. Oh, and yes, a cup of tea would be lovely please, but first I would like to sink in one of your chairs and gaze upon that view. Why, I think I might chat to that happy little cherub while I wait. Love his red hat, by the way. May you have a blessed Christmas, dear Rita.

  31. I am a frequent reader but never a commenter, but today must tell you how beautiful your Christmas displays are. And that early morning view with the tree ....gorgeous. It is especially beautiful to me as I am fighting Covid at home, so none of my Christmas pretties nor my tree, will be put up this year as I am a widow and live alone. Guess I am living thru all the gorgeous Christmas blogs instead. Thank you!

    1. Bless your heart! I've had a couple of exposure scares but can't imagine being alone and fighting COVID! I hope you have a network of friends who will at least check on you and drop off provisions. The blogging community may be virtual, but our friendships are real. Thank you for reaching out and commenting. I will pray for your complete recovery.
