Welcome to Panoply! Today I am sharing my tablescape designed for Thanksgiving, and whether you're a new or longtime reader, I'm so glad you stopped by. This is a time of a Harvest of Thanks.
Not only am I happy to be sharing my own tablescape, but there are a group of table enthusiasts also sharing their creations. I am your host today of a Thanksgiving Tablescape Blog Hop. The list of stylists participating are conveniently linked at the end of this post to make it easy for a progressive intake!
My tablescape inspiration was two-fold for this Thanksgiving: knowing I had some fall decor items I wanted to use was the first. The brass pheasants and hurricanes with brass candlesticks were vintage finds from two separate estates. I kept the centerpiece simple by embellishing the brass pieces with a beautiful French wired autumn paisley ribbon, some lotus flower pods, feathers, and glass pumpkins & acorns.
The second impetus for this harvest of thanks tablescape was a set of salad plates which caught my eye and happened to coordinate nicely with my brass pheasants in the centerpiece. I was drawn to the pheasant design of these plates, and was pleasantly surprised when they arrived and there were three other woodland birds - quail, mallard and woodcock (? not certain) in the set. I like the hints of blue color in the plates too, which goes nicely with my pheasant feather placemats. While I chose to use my Ralph Lauren Equestrian dinner plates, this set of salads will also go nicely with other sets of dinner plates I have. The linen napkins add simple, casual elegance while the leopard napkin rings just make me happy.I then added a set of pumpkin soup mugs to the place settings to drive home the rust colorway of the ribbon and plate colors. We always enjoy soup in mugs, and it lends itself to a more casual approach. Spoons are at the ready for those who choose to be more formal.
My Lenox and Ralph Lauren crystal deliver the classic, tailored look I love assembling my tables with. Together with the serving pieces, centerpiece metals and fire glow, I was satisfied with the overall look of the tablescape.
Just a few changes of items on the sideboard tables and bookcase in the dining room made for a simple transition from early to late fall. I'll enjoy these throughout November, before the Christmas decor comes out. You can view the early fall look in this post.Sources for my table follow in list format. I am not a revenue driven blog, so there's nothing in sharing for me other than that - sharing.
On that note, I want to also share the recently published Ralph Lauren A Way of Living - Home, Lifestyles, Inspiration book I bought. Ralph Lauren is celebrating 40 years since his Home Collection launch in 1983 with this publication. His style is simply impeccable in my eyes, whether it's Estate, Safari, Romance, Bohemian, Country, Seaside, Nautical, Adirondack, Downtown, Uptown, Speed or any future inspiration he may come up with.I have several tablescaping items from the various RL home collections, most of which have been purchased on secondary markets. I could easily immerse myself wholly into any number of his styles. I love incorporating the items I have into my tablescapes.

Rita, I love your new Biltmore Harvest salad plates! They look so handsome framed with your RL Equestrian plates and pheasant placemats. The addition of your leopard napkin rings is such an unexpected and playful touch. Love the French-wire ribbon that swirls across the table as an mixed with your gold, glass, brass and feathers. My eyes immediately went to that gorgeous Johnson Brothers Harvest Fruit transferware platter in your collage…swoon! I’m assuming you found that in your estate shopping and antiquing. I know I would love Ralph Lauren A Way of Living book too, I echo your sentiments on his impeccable style. Thanks you so much for all your organizing efforts for these hops, I am thankful for you! ๐ฆ๐งก
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Rita! I love those pheasant plates. They are gorgeous. I have never thought of using soup mugs, but what a great idea I will certainly be borrowing. It is funny that you should mention that Ralph Lauren book, as I actually have it on my wish list for Christmas! Thank you for hosting today!
ReplyDeleteRita, the Biltmore Harvest salad plates are a fabulous new addition to your plate arsenal. Ralph Lauren Equestrian dinner plates and pheasant placemats add the perfect fall vibes to your beautiful Thanksgiving table. The pumpkin mugs add more warmth to your table and their pop of color is pleasing to the eye. I agree with Mary, the JB transferware platter is swoon worthy. RL’s style always draws me in and I should purchase the book, but my book and plate addictions have left me with no more storage. I love all of the subtle touches to your table… French ribbon, polished brass, crystal glassware…combine for a classic style that RL would approve. Thank you for your tireless work in hosting. Wishing you a blessed Thanksgiving season!
ReplyDeleteRita your table is stunning. Simple yet elegant with those lovely Biltmore Harvest salad plates and RL dinner plates and glassware! Of course your AC tablecloth was perfect for the beginning of your table setting. I have the pheasant placemats too and they make my heart sing as I remember all the pheasant hunts through the milo fields of the midwest. I don't believe there is nary a pheasant here in Florida. I also enjoy looking at your sideboard and table collections as you tie them in with your table styling so beautifully. I am checking out the Ralph Lauren book as a possible gift to me from me. Thank you for organizing these hops. They are always such fun and as Mary said...I am thankful for you not only as a fellow blogger but as a friend. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteRita, your tablescape is gorgeous! I love everything about it, but I must say I'm partial to the Ralph Lauren equestrian plates. This time of year is when horse shows are in full swing, and it reminds me of all the shows we've attended with our girls. The brass touches and rose gold flatware look fantastic together, and I also enjoyed seeing how you styled your shelves for fall. Thanks again for organizing these blog hops. I appreciate all the trouble you go to for us!
ReplyDeleteOooh those pheasant dinner plates are so beautiful. I have always loved Ralph Lauren home goods! Ralph Lauren is just classic style that will never go out of style. Love your little pumpkin bowls too! Thank you for hosting this blog hop. Sorry I was a little late to the party this morning. Hugs, Karin
ReplyDeleteRita, your RL plates are charming and I really love the gold accents you added to your beautiful table setting! Thanks for hosting us once again, Friend!
ReplyDeleteSo elegant, beautifully mixed vintage and new. I like the soft colors, and those woodland birds plates are lovely! Thank you for hosting the hop!
ReplyDeleteI love the mood you have created with your beautiful Thanksgiving table Rita, it's cozy, inviting and romantic. I love the colors, tones of brown and white accented with gold and orange. The vintage plates are lovely and I would love to sip my soup from a pumpkin mug! I love the feathers in the centerpiece and the ambiance the candles create. I always love your overhead photos, just beautiful! Thanks so much for being our hostess with the mostest!

Rita, this table and all its fabulous details sings to me. I have often featured pheasants on a holiday table, so I'm soaking in all your special touches. The ribbon, oh my! It is such an elegant, simple touch, and the vase of feathers is perfection. I keep a small vase of rooster feathers out year round. The bouquet was a gift from my sister when Monnie passed. She knows me so well! I will definitely be a copycat on using a vase of pheasant feathers on table with my pheasants plates. The salad plates you found are fabulous. The pattern is new to me, but I have salads in that RL pattern. I gave my set of Copeland Spode equestrian dishes to a friend, but kept my RL pieces and my Churchill Country Life plates. Your feather placemats are striking, and I need to remember to set my oval table with two side by side on either side. I like the way it looks! I may just go change my tabletop this morning. I need to learn to take a good overhead photo. I tried with little success! Your image is perfection! I've pinned several photos to reference for an upcoming table. Thank you for inspiring me, for hosting these wonderful tabletop blog hops, and mostly for your friendship over the years. I hope our travels lead us to meet one day. I would like that! Tally Ho!
ReplyDeleteRita, your table is both classic and cozy. The RL dinner plates show off the lovely Biltmore Harvest salad plates. They have such beautiful colors, details and take center stage in the table. What could go any better with the tablescape than your lovely selection of feathers, pheasant placemats, pumpkins, pinecones and lotus pods. It is an exquisite look with a mixture of cozy. The pumpkin mugs are a great idea for the warm and creamy soups. The brass candlesticks and hurricanes add such elegance to the table and I am sure can be used in future various designs. Such a lovely Thanksgiving table. Have a wonderful holiday with family and friends.
ReplyDeleteRita, your table is gorgeous with your RL dinner plates, crystal and the Biltmore Harvest salad plates. The pheasant feathers tie in nicely with the woodland birds. The pheasant placemats look lovely encircling your plate stack. The pretty ribbon adds an elegant touch
ReplyDeleteLove the leopard napkins rings, a unexpected addition. The hurricanes with the brass candlesticks are so pretty. I should bring out mine. The soup mugs are so perfect. I enjoy having soup out of a mug too. You have a knack for finding gorgeous vintage items. I too, love the overhead shot. So beautiful. Thank you for organizing the blog hops. Many blessings.
Rita, your Thanksgiving table is just beautiful! Your new Biltmore plates pair perfectly with your RL dinner plates. I love the simple and natural elegance of your centerpiece with the feathers and French ribbon. It is all so pretty! It is always such a joy to join you on these hops. Thank you so much for all you do to organize these gatherings. I hope you and your family have a blessed and happy Thanksgiving! Shannon@Belle Bleu Interiors
ReplyDeleteBounced over here from Carole's blog and more Holiday Happiness! Ralph Lauren has been pivotal in my choice of housewares and clothing for years. I hope he is training someone to carry on. Love all the decor, this is my holiday where I cook and entertain. Thanks for the new ideas.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for visiting and leaving your comments. I also hope the RL brand continues seamlessly long after he is gone. Happy Thanksgiving season to you.
DeleteRita, this is a beautiful Thanksgiving table. The new salads are lovely and look perfect on the RL dinner plates and pheasant placemats. I love all you vintage finds - you have such a keen eye for those. The mixed metals and feathers add a wonderful texture. For me, its the feel that your table gives - all warm and cozy and earthy and elegant all at once. Love it all!
ReplyDeleteI’m crazy about your feathers as your centerpiece, Rita! I have pheasant feathers that my beloved saved for me and I have them in an arrangement. Your plates are so pretty and those pumpkin mugs are perfect for soup. It’s a lovely Fall tablescape. ๐๐งก๐
ReplyDeleteRita, I love what you created for your Thanksgiving table. You pulled together everything that represents the fall season and Thanksgiving. I adore the RL dinner plates, one of my favorites. Actually, I love most all things RL. I have the same glasses and use them everyday. The brass pheasants make a wonderful centerpiece along with the feathers. Oh I have to mention the placemats, beautiful along with the linen napkins and leopard napkins rings. Love how the mugs are the finishing touch. Perfection....... Happy November Rita.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Your use of texture (both subtle and obvious) is perfection, and I love the little touches of blue from your new Biltmore plates. But I have to admit... it was your transferware platter that made my heart skip a beat. I'm glad you included it in your collage. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Rita. I love that you have so many styles you can mix and match for your holiday tables. Love the RL plates. Love the pheasants and feathers on your centerpiece. It is all beautiful. Happy rest of the week. Enjoy these fall days. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteThis is delightful, Rita. It has a hard-to-always-master mix of elegance with warmth. Classic, yet contemporary. Loving your salad plates with the birds; they're wonderful and I can see why you were wild about them. And those brass pheasants and the hurricanes are a wonderful accent. Lovely in every way!
ReplyDeleteYour table is gorgeous. Makes me realize I need more feathers. And girl, those dinner plates... Wowza!
ReplyDeleteHi Rita! Yes, your new plates are really beautiful and quite unusual. Perfect for any meal, I think, but especially at Thanksgiving. I really like the Indian Headress (my reading) as the centerpiece.
ReplyDeleteIt's me, Ginene. I'm not anonymous!
DeleteLove those plates, Rita and all those gorgeous brass accessories. Leopard print napkin holders look amazing with the fall patterns!
ReplyDeleteOh this is such a lovely table Rita! I love the overall look - white and brown and gold are so beautifully fall! And I love your layout too. I'm going to remember to fill in my empty corners with some pretty serving dishes. Thanks for the inspiration and for hosting the hop. I love to see what everyone's up to, all in one place. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteRita, as always a lovely job on the hop. It was fun to see all the creative ideas everyone came up with. Your table is lovely with some gorgeous whit, brown and gold colors with lovely brass accents. Hope you have a wonderful thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteLynne
Rita, I love the elegant simplicity of your table design! All the elements work together to create a relaxing celebration of fall. The pheasant feathers in the centerpiece and placemats had me from the start and I love their tie-in with the plates (which are wonderful on their own!). The colorway is really enhanced by the ribbon and the flatware. Beautifully done! Happy Thanksgiving
ReplyDeleteI wanted to thank you again for organizing a wonderful tablescape blog hop. This time I started from the bottom and worked my way up the list so your table was a great way to end an enjoyable tour!
Such a pretty table, Rita! I love the woodland birds salad plates - perfect for Thanksgiving. Thanks so much for organizing our hop! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing tables scape! I just love the pheasant plates and how you used feathers for the main centerpiece!
