Hello, and welcome to my blog, Panoply! Today I am sharing my tablescape creation for the Thanksgiving holiday, celebrated in America this year on November 28th. My tablescape celebrates the fowl and feast of this Thanksgiving holiday.
I am also pleased to be hosting a bevy of bloggers who also bring their table talents to you today. Their links will be found near the end of this post. You won't want to miss them!
While turkey is the most popular main course for an American Thanksgiving, my tablescape today celebrates an assortment of fowl for this feast. It starts with my salad plates from Williams Sonoma. The Pilgrim Gate collection features not only Tom Turkey, but also quail, duck and pheasant.Carrying out the theme of various fowl, I set my plate stack on a base of pheasant placemats and locust wood chargers. Additionally, feather napkin rings accent the placemats. I felt the dinner plates accented the dinner plates as well. The bamboo flatware is intended to complement the chargers.I love Juliska's 2015 Forest Walk collection, having purchased the salad plates several years ago. This year, I found the coordinating mugs for a good price on eBay. As is typical in tablescaping, mixing elements provides interest to the "outfit", much the same as when putting a clothing outfit together. The mugs are used in today's table. The pitcher, featuring a turkey, was found through Creative Co-op.Estate sales consistently yield finds that I will foster, at least for a year or two. I'll then offer them in our Panoply antique and vintage goods booths two of my sisters and I have rented since 2008. My tablescape today has a few of those items on the table. They include vintage glassware, ceramic grouse, glass turkey salts & peppers, and glass turkey taper holders, as well as slim tapers.Setting a seasonal table is a creative outlet for me. Finding beauty in small things and using them in my decor is part of what I enjoy in making my home feel cozy. Sharing my sources is simply a convenience to you, hopefully to inspire you. It also serves as my memory board.

Also in my dining room, I have a pair of chairs suitable for conversation or reading by the fireplace. This fall, I dressed them in Portofino pheasant toss pillows from a summer estate sale. I also couldn't resist the John Derian for Target textiles. The bird and acorn cotton throw is quite cozy, and the acorn and pear pillows are whimsical and fun.
Enjoy the rest of autumn, and I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. If we focus on the positive, we all truly have so much to be grateful for. I am grateful for your readership today, and for my loyal readers, most of whom have become friends.

Good Morning Rita, Your assortment of fowl are so handsome! Your tables are always such a wonderful mix of new and vintage/antique finds. I love the mix of masculine and feminine with the feather details of the placemats and napkin rings in contrast to the wood chargers and bamboo flatware. Your rechargeable lamps flanking the ends of your table provide such a nice glow and ambiance, especially now with the time change. Don’t you love all the John Derian accessories? I especially love those acorn pillows. I never saw that throw but admired the same pattern in the double pie carrier. Thank you so much for all your organizing efforts for our hops. I’m so thankful for you! π¦ π§‘
ReplyDeleteLove this seasonal table Rita! I think the Thanksgiving tables are my favorite of the year. I also couldn't resist the John Derian for Target textiles. I have the mushroom pillows in my basket.
ReplyDeleteRita, I am thrilled to be part of the bevy of bloggers that Tablescape with you!!! I always enjoy your wonderful finds and how you work them in with new pieces. I am so bummed that I somehow missed the collab with Target and John D this year- not sure how- I am in Target all the time- but I adore that throw and the fruit pillows!! Pheasants were always a part of my Thanksgiving growing up , as my dad and uncles used to go pheasant hunting early in the morning while my mom was fixing the turkey. Your table sparks some early memories!! I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving ππΌπ§‘
ReplyDeleteThis table is perfect, Rita. I love how the tablecloth forms such a wonderful base for the beautiful place settings (great plates!). But I have to say that the thing that just screamed at me and said, "Oh, you beauty!" was that wonderful pitcher. That one is such a unique and lovely piece. I don't know if it's old, new or just new to you, but it is one hundred percent fabulous! (I might have to see if my Target has that Darien throw -- I've been looking for something that color!)
ReplyDeleteRita, your tables always inspire me, but today's especially so. I added the Plymouth Gate dinner plates when they were first came out, and they are often part of my plate stacks, including today as well. I like the rim detail that offers a textural feel along with that touch of glistenly gold. Williams-Sonoma often adds to their collections in following years.,
ReplyDeleteWise and thoughtful approach for their customer base. The assortment of fowls are a beautiful addition. The Juliska Forest Walk has also long been a favorite for me. Happy for you to have found more of this beautiful pattern. You know I'm a John Derian fan, and added more from his collection this year. Love the beautiful teal textile with its birds and acorns. Mine is on a chair on the sunporch, for cozy morning such as today, but these are great for table textiles as well. Your pheasant pillows were a great find! All pairs so beautifully in your dining room.
Thanks for keeping this bevy of bloggers organized and on task for these excellent hops. It's fun to be a part of such a creative, talented group of stylist. You are an exceptional, much appreciated leader! Happy Thanksgiving to you and Will and your family.
Good morning, Rita! I love your table so much!! Seeing your placemats reminds me of how much I really miss Pier 1! I don't have those mats but I do have a couple of the napkin rings. I think I have an odd number, like 3 because it's all they had when I saw them... I love your lamps on your table! I saw those during my "great lamp search of 2024" - LOL!!! They're awesome. I am completely smitten with using them on my table. They'll appear again for sure. Your William Sonoma plates are so lovely and perfectly top your lovely plate stack. Thank you again for hosting this wonderful party. You are such a wonderful stylist and hostess!!! Happy Thanksgiving ~ Jennifer
ReplyDeleteIt is so fun to go to all of your table scapes for Thanksgiving. So many different designs and tastes. I love that you used wood chargers under your plates. Love your style. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteThis is such a lovely table, a celebration of the fall season, love the wild birds. You blog is not allowing me to sign in to comment, don't know why as I have before. Anyway, it is a beautiful table, perfect for a day of Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteRita, I love your table featuring the fowl WS salad plates. The border is beautiful. I was just thinking I have enjoyed the four fowls featured in several restaurants across the country, all delicious! The plate stack is lovely and I love feathered placemats, especially for autumn. You mix the antique, vintage, and new so well. Mixing antique finds make for an interesting table and also enhances conversation. The John Derian throw is gorgeous. Seeing your feather napkin rings reminded me that I have some. I am not as organized as you, my friend. Thanks so much for organizing the hops. You are a blessing!
ReplyDeleteRita, your fowl and feast table setting is charming and I love the velvet pumpkins and various textures you layered! Thanks for hosting and have a blessed Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteYou are the queen of gorgeous tablescapes! I adore the lush layers and lovely color palette!
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely Rita, the WS foul salad plates are perfect for Thanksgiving! I love the elements in your plate stack, especially the pheasant place mats. The pitcher and mugs look great with all the other elements, and the color palette is rich in fall colors and textures. It's so nice that you can "borrow" items from your booth to enjoy in your home! Love the throw and the cute acorn pillow! Thank you so much for all the tablescape fun we have with you hosting our blog hops!

Rita, your tables are always so full of inspiration! I love those William Sonoma plates. The border is very striking. The pheasant place mats are gorgeous. I wish we still had Pier 1 here in Canada. The mugs and pitcher could not be any more perfect! I really like the overhead view, as it shows just how warm and inviting the table decor is! Thank you for hosting once again! Always a pleasure to participate. Happy Thanksgiving :)
ReplyDeleteRita thanks so much for organizing this wonderful group of stylists...and I love your fowl and feast motif. The Pilgrim Gate collection is so perfect for this time of year and of course the turkey pitcher caught my eye. I also have to confess that having your booth to not only bring new pieces to your table but also to retire these same pieces when the whim hits is such a nice luxury that makes me green with envy. I have long exceeded my storage capacity and yet......!!! LOL. My extra pieces that have travelled with me are in a small storage area under our bed and even though packed well, I still shudder when we hit "bumps" in the road. I also have the pheasant place mats but they are back home. Your table is so cozy and inviting that I would love a seat at your table. Happy November my friend. πππΏ️π¦π¦π¦π
ReplyDeleteYour table is spectacular. I love it! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I'll tell you what the feathers remind me of...when I was little, men wore hats. In the band of my dad's hat was a small feather. Fond memories of simpler times. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteRita, your foul and feast table is lovely. Love the WS plates . How fun to find the cute mugs. Love the feathers. I see you also used pheasant placemats along with the wooden chargers.mThe turkey pitcher is darling. The throw and acorn pillows bare the cutest ever. Always a pleasure seeing your pretty table. Thank you for your wonderful organizing skills too.
ReplyDeleteThis is a truly beautiful table that you have set here. I always love your mix of newer, vintage, and estate finds that you gather together. The WS fowl plates are gorgeous, especially as framed by your dinner plates, wood chargers, and pheasant placemats. I have long adored the Juliska Forest Walk collection and it adds another wonderful element to the table. Love the feminine and masculine touches too. Oh, for a Target in Canada. Thank you for all the organizing you do for these hops - like Mary, I am thankful for you!
ReplyDeleteRita, your fowl inspired Thanksgiving table is beautiful, warm, and inviting. The throw is gorgeous, and the William Sonoma plates are so pretty. ReplyDeleteBeautiful table Rita. The plates are so gorgeous, you know how much I love nature and woodland critters. Your chairs look like a perfect spot to visit and relax with those adorable pillows. Happy November!!!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I love your Big Lots tablecloth (our Big Lots is going out of business). The plates are so pretty and I’m loving your flatware. The little turkey candle holders are so sweet. How nice to use your pretty things and then put them in your booth in the future. Your corner does look like a cozy place to relax, Rita.
ReplyDeleteI love your table Rita, from the pheasant charger to the turkey salt & peppers, and everything in between! I also love your idea of "fostering" your tableware - what a brilliant and apt description! - and such a great way to not only keep your collection at a reasonable level, but to share your wonderful finds with other tablescapers! I wish I was close enough to visit your booths. Such fun to be able to work with your sisters too! Thanks so much for hosting this wonderful hop! Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteThanksgiving is such a great time to be creative with tablescapes and yours was quite wonderful. Love the William Sonoma plates featuring those wonderful birds. They go so well with the beautiful pheasant placemats and the wood chargers. When you add in the whimsical vintage birds the table becomes a special place to gather. the mugs and pitcher are a great addition to the table. Thanks so much for including all of us in your Thanksgiving celebration. Someday I will get to visit your shop and browse your treasures. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteLynne
I would like to visit the shop too, but it is out of my price range so I'll just stick to the Dollar Tree.
DeleteBeautiful table Rita. Love the pitcher and coffee mugs. The dishes are perfect for Thanksgiving and I like all the details you’ve added. Happy Thanksgiving!

DeleteThe bird plates are nice, people will be talking about those for weeks. The tall candle and pinecones in the first photos are not appropriate for a holiday gathering. Drunken guests are apt to knock the candle over which will catch the pinecones on fire, ruining the whole day.
ReplyDeleteRita, this is a a lovely table! The depictions of the birds on the salad plates are wonderfully detailed, and really stand out against their muted backgrounds. The design of the dinner plates' rims perfectly harmonizes with that of the salad plates. The pheasant placemats are fabulous, and I like their softened texture against the wood chargers. The other items on the table add to the warm autumnal feel of the table. Thanks again for captaining these blog hops! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful set up! I love the bird plates so much. We are hosting this year so I have been looking for inspiration. I still need to get our centerpiece figured out but we are having our carpets cleaned this week which is good news. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful table!!!
