Good morning! It's been a very active past few months in my Zone 7a garden, and today I'm happy to share part of mine with you in a garden to table styling.
I am thrilled to be sharing and celebrating garden blooms with Pam, Mary, and Lidy in this edition of Monday Morning Blooms.
A very special thank you to Pam, (Everyday Living), Mary (Home is Where the Boat Is), and Lidy (French Garden House) for inviting me to join them in this monthly series they host. You will find links to their always inspiring posts below.I welcome you to my blog, Panoply. Whether you are a first-time visitor or longtime reader, it's a pleasure to have you today. Pam, Mary, Lidy and I all share a love of gardening, and I am excited to combine that love of my garden with a bouquet and tablescape for you today.
The entire month of May is when the fruits of garden labor really shine for me. Winter cleanup is complete, and spring plantings are also finished. The blooms are continuous! For today's bouquet, I've chosen a mix of those blooms: iris, baptisia (also known as false indigo), spiderwort, poppies, weigela, salvia, a few varieties of peonies, and bits of greenery from my skip laurel bushes.
This garden to table look thrilled me as I put it together for this Monday Morning Blooms post. It embodies so much of what I have been striving for in my four years of revamping the cottage garden of our property since moving here in 2021. The work continues! This table started with my own garden picks, of course, but was easily complemented by the choice elements I used on the table. Longtime readers know that I am a vintage and antiques dealer, and I often foster items I find at home before letting them go for sale. Such was the case with the small bread plates in the shape and colors of poppies. The orange shown above is what grows in my perennial garden. The florals and their colors in the bouquet and on the table feel so varied, so fresh and free flowing! This is what gardeners live for!Of course, gardeners hope to grow a garden which pollinators are attracted to and birds enjoy, also! For this reason, I chose the Napoleon Bee flatware and coordinating stemware to honor the bees' important role in the garden. And let's not forget the butterflies, a most welcome visitor to our gardens. On my table, I am using this butterfly plate for serving on either end of the table. A funny, not-so-funny story behind these plates: I ordered these as a set of four, three consecutive times, only to end up with just one of four plates undamaged in each shipment. A set of four just wasn't meant to be, but I absolutely adored how they went with everything else I was using. When the dinner takes place, the bouquet can readily be placed on the sideboard to enhance unobstructed table conversation.I hope you enjoyed this garden to table post. I always share my table element sources, both for my memory and for any reader's interest. I have no affiliations, just like the sources I found, to add beauty to my household decor.

Good morning Rita, I love your garden-to-table celebration of blooms! Your MacKenzie-Childs Parchment Check Great Vase is stunning with combination of iris, peonies, poppies and garden foliage. I’m a fan of the purple spikes of baptisia too, along the bees. 🐝 I love your cheery plate stack with their colorful blooms, paired with your linens. Your poppy plates are such a fun find to foster and enjoy before they make their way to your antique booth. So sorry the third time was not the charm for a set of four butterfly plates, but the pair flanking your table are a lovely addition, along with the twinkle and soft glow from your lights. 🦋 We’re so happy to have you join us for some flower therapy and share your garden today! Wishing you a Happy Birthday! 🎉🥳💐💗
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I'm a sucker for iris and poppy, so this gets me right away! The colors are so bright and happy and I really love the theme and your gorgeous tablecloth! Makes me smile, this one!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful collection of blooms! May was good to you, and June looks promising, too.
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Rita. I am drawn to your garden to table immediately because of the explosion of glorious colors. As you know, I am quite fond of color! The opening collage is beautiful! I am amazed at all you have accomplished in your cottage garden. The arrangement of mixed blooms…Iris, baptisia, poppies, peonies, and garden cuttings is beautiful and a reward for all of your hard work!! The poppy bread plates are eye-catching as is the plate stack. You honored the pollinators with your fabulous table. The butterfly plates flanking your table and twinkling lights create magic! Of course, the MKC vase and placemats are lovely.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you could join us for Monday Morning Blooms and flower therapy! Happy birthday Rita 🎂🎈💕
Good Morning sweet friend. You have done so much to get your garden looking so beautiful. I love all the colors to your garden table theme. Everything matches so beautifully. Have a great new week. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Rita....this is one of my favorites of all your tablescapes! Of course I love the Parchment Check great vase as your centerpiece. Your plate stacks, linens, and butterfly serving tray are all perfection. It's also fun to see how your garden is progressing. I know you have been working so hard designing and planting it. It's looking great!
ReplyDeleteRita, your garden themed table is so pretty. I love the MKC great vase with your peonies, Iris, poppies, etc. makes for a beautiful bouquet and wonderful reward after all of your hard work. Your cottage garden is lovely. The table is beautifully set with a floral plate stack, topped with cute poppy plates. Definitely a garden themed table. Love the butterfly plate. So sorry you did not have luck with obtaining 4. I almost bought them on eBay for a butterfly themed table. So refreshing to see you were invited to join Mary, Pam and Lidy for a Monday Morning Blooms. Happy Birthday Rita.🌺🎂
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of your 7a zone garden. Here in Chicagoland we are still planting...between rain and cool temps, everything is delayed. Peonies are still not blooming, though they have had buds for over a week. Sigh...but there is always another day.Grins, Sandi
ReplyDeleteSandi, thank you. I see your Chicagoland zone as a garden reprise for my viewing due to its later timing, but I can certainly appreciate delays. We actually had a slower spring for the same reasons as you. Hopefully your peonies have started their showing.
DeleteIt is all lovely. I will be taking some ideas from you. :-)
ReplyDeleteOur peony will be in bloom this week.
Carla
Good Afternoon, Rita.
ReplyDeleteI was so pleased to see you were invited to Monday Morning Blooms. They are such sweet gals.
Your MKC vase filled with garden blooms is quite stunning. What a bounty of gorgeous cottage garden flowers! That's lots of hard work, and it paid off. Your plate stack is quite charming. I love the poppy bread plates!
I enjoyed your garden table today. Thanks for the inspiration!
Happy June! 🌸☀️💐
Good morning, Rita. What a stunning table filled with those bright, summery colors! Your flower collage is beautiful, your garden is just lovely. {While I am not the working gardener at FGH, I do choose {buy} the plants and colors...so I feel a little like a gardener.} But YOU, are obviously a true and skilled gardener! Like Pam, I'm amazed at all you have accomplished in your sweet cottage garden.
ReplyDeleteYour floral arrangement with the iris, baptisia, poppies, peonies, and garden cuttings is just beautiful. I 'm so blessed you could join us for Monday Morning Blooms and our flower therapy! Wishing you a Happy birthday- and a gorgeous month ahead of enjoying the garden and sun! xo Lidy
Your garden to table is beautiful, Rita! You’re so fortunate to have all those gorgeous flowers right in your very own yard. This table is gorgeous Rita, it just sings summer! Your garden blooms are breathtaking and I love your happy color mix. I love your subtle reference to the importance of butterflies and bees with the pretty butterfly plates, and bee flatware and stemware. The mix of patterns on the table is fun and happy, and those adorable poppy plates really pop! I always love your photos of your tables from above, just beautiful!

So beautiful Rita!!! That shot from above shows just how gorgeous your combination of tablecloth, plates and florals are!!!❤️💜💛magnificent!!! Love it all!
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful table Rita - I love all the exuberant colors you have chosen! The flowers are gorgeous and a testament to all the work you have done in your garden. The plate stack is so bright and cheery, and the poppy plates are delightful. Those butterfly plates are sooo darling and I'm sorry that so many of them arrived broken. The flatware and stemware are a lovely tribute to those beautiful pollinators that keep gardens (and gardeners) happy. Have a wonderful rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteRita, not sure how I missed this post! Of course I admire both your amazing garden blooms and your wonderful table settings. Adorable flower plates from Hobby Lobby. I forget to go check out that store. There is not one close by, so out of sight, out of mind. Poppy plates have a good home in your cupboards and hopefully a few more of the butterfly plates will fly in one day soon. Glad I noticed this post this morning. Sorry I'm late to the garden party.
ReplyDeleteI just kept on pinning your beautiful pictures. I love them!
ReplyDeleteNicole, thank you! That's so sweet of you. I'm happy you were inspired!
DeleteOh my goodness...I LOVE this post! Your cottage garden blooms and table settings are a sight to behold and I am so happy to see you honoring the pollinators with your choice of tableware. Your garden and settings just keep getting more and more beautiful. Happy almost summer!
