Welcome to my blog, Panoply, everyone! Today's treat (no tricks) is a Halloween tablescape titled, "Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun!" Are you ready? We are! ππ
I am happy to be hosting ghouls from many corners of blogland in this, a Halloween tablescape blog hop. These hops are so much fun, and there are seventeen of us gathered together to bring you lots of ideas for your celebration of All Hallow's Eve! See the entire list near the end of this post.I have something to tell you before the table details. I didn't use to be in love with this holiday, but a few things changed that. First, my friend Mary's exponential enthusiasm for this holiday is an infectious reason for change. The second reason is having a granddaughter who LOVES costuming and is ready for a party anytime, anywhere!
Lastly, I love making tables part of my decor for various occasions, so Halloween has become a part of that creative endeavor at home. So, this year's table started with a purchase last year from the antique mall where two of my sisters and I have rented booth spaces since 2008. Most of our time there is dedicated to working our own booths, but every now and then we'll shop our friends' booths. That's where I found the Gossip Guys, by Joe Spencer.
Talk about loads of fun - three heads are definitely better than one! What a hoot these guys are.
Next, I found the vintage Debbie Mumm Halloween plates for a whimsical twist on the ghouls of Halloween.
These plates, layered alongside a few good ghouls I already had, plus some new, sparkly ghouls as napkin rings, along with a plaid tablecloth gifted from my friend Mary, and my table came to life!A few more grocery ghouls, wigged out for the occasion, found their way to my home, and a couple of them settled among the small pumpkins and candy corn tree forest on the table.
Staging Halloween decor is something I was especially looking forward to this year, with as much as my 3 yr old granddaughter loves playing in costuming. Believe it or not, she has been over a few times since the table was set, and she hasn't given one bit of attention to it! I think she'd make a great guest to those ghouls that just wanna have fun. Perhaps some candy on the table will entice her......I am in the habit of documenting my sources for my tables. It helps me remember the details, and also provides ways for you, as readers, to go out and find some fun things, too. There's no sponsorship whatsoever. So, here you go:

You’re a ‘ghoul’ after my own heart Rita…your table is SO fun! π§Ή π π»πΈ️π Those Joe Spencer Gossip Guys are a hoot…’three heads are definitely better than one’ π Such adorable Debbie Mumm plates with the colorful checked borders…right up my alley, more fun than frightening! So glad you’re enjoying the tablecloth and I love the pattern play at your table with the check napkins and Courtly Check chargers paired with the plaid, blingy assorted napkin rings, cute ghosts and bottle brush trees.
ReplyDeleteJacqueline is SO adorable and at such a fun age for Trick or Treating and Halloween, love all her costumes, especially the Grinch!
Thank you so much for hosting and organizing our hops, I so appreciate your efforts.π§‘
P.S. Thank you for remembering our NC neighbors along with those across the southeast who were impacted by Helene. I’ve been heartsick over it and lack of aid from FEMA and now with Mitchell bearing down on Florida. God bless the linemen, relief workers and volunteers providing help and supplies. π
Fabulous job

ReplyDeleteSuch a fun halloween table setting. I cannot believe how big J is getting. I love the one pic of her and the skeleton guy. The look on her face is like hey bud you are in my personal space lol! So cute. Happy New Week. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteFirst, the table is loads of fun! Just like J, my girls love to dress in costumes. She is absolutely adorable! I love that they have wonderful imaginations. The Gossip Guys are fabulous, that is a great find! The vintage Debbie Mumm plates are perfect with your MKC Courtly Check chargers and the Arte Italica napkins. ReplyDeleteRita, thank you for all you do to brings these hops into fruition! I appreciate your hard work!
How cute Rita! I love the Gossip Guys, so hilarious! I love the Debbie Mumm plates you found and those fun ghosts! I am surprised that your granddaughter hasn't been lured to the table to see the candy corn forest and decorated pumpkins, but I'm sure if you added a bowl of candy she would find that! I always love seeing the photos you take from above, just a great way to see the whole table. Thank you so much for being our hostess with the mostess!
ReplyDeleteJenna

DeleteRita, when I first saw your three-headed ghoul, it brought to mind that you and your 2 sisters love to antique together. Your table is so fun, hard to believe J hasn't noticed it yet. As it's closer to Halloween, I imagine she'd love a tea party! Have fun this October. Your reader statue is adorable dressed as a ghost to welcome guests!
ReplyDeleteRita, you've captured all the fun aspects of the holiday and I can completely relate to joining in with your Grand's enthusiasm! I love your cute ghoulish accents and those darling plates--pinned! Have a lovely October!
ReplyDeleteRita, this is a darling tablescape. I love the three-headed Gossip Guys! I bet your grands love them, too. Your ghosts are so cute, especially the ghost napkin rings. I truly enjoy participating!
ReplyDeleteI hope one day to have a grandchild so I can have fun setting up a table as cute as yours. I love that your granddaughter enjoys dressing up. That's the best part of being a kid in my book. ;) Love the Gossip Guys! They are too cute. And your entire table is perfect for a ghoulish dinner. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteThe "Gossip Guys" are such a wonderful jumping off point to start your Halloween table but the best part of Halloween is dressing up with your Granddaughter. I think Halloween is for the young at heart and we need to see the holiday through the wondering eyes of children. It's magical and enchanting for them and through them for us. Your plate stack goes perfectly with your Gossip Guys and the colors are great for the holiday. Thanks so much for allowing us all to participate and have a little fun amidst so much hardship. Have a wonderful Halloween.
ReplyDeleteLynne
Oh this is so fun! I’ve been wanting to come by and see what you’ve been up to and I picked the perfect day! I was never crazy about Halloween but you are right… when you’re surrounded by people who absolutely love it, you can’t help but be drawn in. Katie is an absolute Halloween nut! Your granddaughter is the cutest! I can’t believe how much she’s grown! I do think candy would bring your gorgeous table into focus for her at her age. But the rest of us really appreciate your talent. Thanks for sharing and hosting. I look so forward to these hops. I’m off to see the rest. Take care!
ReplyDeleteI've been gone so long that blogger lost my profile! That last comment was me!

The Gossip Guys caught my eye right away (delightful find), and I had to google Joe Spencer. I have not seen anything like it before. What a fun table, Rita, even if J has ignored it LOL.
ReplyDeleteRita, I love this! It definitely celebrates the fun that Halloween offers, from iconic images to donning costumes to reveling in all the spookily wonderful treats to be had. I enjoy these blog hops and I am glad I stopped over to see you.
Thanks for sharing your Halloween Table with us.
Enjoy the rest of your week.
Could this be any more darling? My daughter has her birthday the 30th of October so naturally, we fall into the trap of always having her birthday party Halloween themed. She says she loves it so we just keep doing it! As she as getting older (12) I have been needing more ideas for table-scapes and decor since her and her little friends want to actually have a meal at the table. How proper right? Anyway, this is the perfect inspiration, I will head out to hobby lobby to get the finishing touches! The last week of October is always a huge rush to get everything ready for the party, trick or treaters, and hosting. I own a carpet cleaning company with my husband and we decided about 3 years go to make sure we always have the carpet cleaning done on the last Monday of every October, ha! Anyway, more than you needed to know. Let the party prep and cleaning begin!
