Hello, my friends, and welcome to my blog, Panoply. Today I have another tablescape for you, for Thanksgiving, simply titled Thankful. Mine is but one of more than twenty of my blogging friends' table designs, being delivered to you just in time for the upcoming holiday. It's a feast of ideas for you! Read on for more juicy details....
As part of an ongoing series I am hosting, this Thanksgiving tablescape blog hop is sure to showcase some excellent ideas for you in planning your family holiday meal. See the entire list of stylists participating further in this post. The inspiration for my Thanksgiving table this year is multi-pronged. First, I scored 36 pieces of Myott Factory archive illustrations Thanksgiving china at an estate sale this past August for a price much less than places such as TJMaxx and HomeGoods originally offered this pattern. The lot purchased included 8 dinner plates, 16 salads, 7 mugs, 4 bowls and 1 platter. I shared the loot with my sister who also loves dishes.A second inspiration comes from the idea of an annual Presidential pardon of a turkey, only I'm the one who wants the pardon. While I would've loved setting this table in our new home, the condo had to suffice. We closed on our home October 6th, and my entire month was spent packing and hauling a LOT of small loads from the condo, while the larger furniture was moved on October 29.
Lastly, my inspiration is simply one of feeling thankful. We made it over the big push to get [mostly] moved by the 29th. I am thankful my body held up, for the friends and family who helped me pack, carry and haul, and for the professionals who've shown up to do jobs impossible for us to handle.
This soft palette tablescape sends a calming vibe for me, something I am craving right now. I feel as though I missed out on fall due to moving, and it left a sense of both agitation and longing within me. Setting this table countered those feelings, and had me looking forward to relaxing and spending time with family on the holiday.
We're all getting our boosters as the weeks leading to Thanksgiving go by; therefore, planning to be together on the holiday stress-free. I will not actually be hosting, but look forward to sharing the day with Mr. P.'s side of the family and with my girls and theirs.

This is lovely and calming Rita. The soft palette is my choice for our table this year. I've had my table set three times in the last month, and have chosen grey/silver/white as our Thanksgiving 2021 colors. I already bought our tablecloth, but I also love yours and may try to seek it out for next year if HomeGoods still has it. I hope you can find time to relax in your new home before Christmas.
ReplyDeleteRita, I know you’re thankful to be done moving and on to the fun stage of decorating and feathering your nest in your new home! Moving is such a herculean task both physically and mentally. I love your softer palette for Thanksgiving at your table. What a haul and bargain your Queen’s Myott Thanksgiving turkey plates are! I have two dinner plates among my collection of ‘Toms’ and love the soft pinks and sage greens. Your velvet placemats and soft paisley tablecloth provide the perfect foundation for the softer side of Thanksgiving and your velvet and feathered pumpkins make for the perfect centerpiece for your table, flanked by your candles. As always it’s a treat to join you at the table. Thanks so much for your organizing efforts for this hop! ♥
ReplyDeleteRita, You picked a perfect calming, lovely table for the hop at a very stressful time ...moving! I was surprised you were even able to get it all together but your efforts succeeded! (I should have known as organized as you are, that this would be a piece of cake, so to speak.) At least you will not have to host this year...so take the time to relax and enjoy your family.
ReplyDeleteWhat a find on your dinnerware...the right time and the right place, as they say. Estate sales are an excellent for finding treasures....the only problem with Florida is most have had their "sales" up north and come down here very 'pared' down! LOL!!! Love your Ralph Lauren, (Glen Plaid) water goblets! Ebay is such a good source. Thank you for finding time to organize this hop, we do appreciate you.
Hugs dear friend
Kari
Rita, you really did score a beautiful set of Myott when you went to the estate sale. It sets a perfect table for you to enjoy with its soft palette of color which is so lovely. The move sounds exhausting and I'm so happy to hear you are settled in and will be enjoying your holiday with family. Look forward to seeing how you decorate your new home. Happy November Rita........
ReplyDeleteWow, such a great find you got with those dishes. They are beautiful! They fit your style perfectly. I am sorry to hear that you feel like you missed Fall. It's not really over in my area, maybe you can get in a week or so while you get the joy of unpacking. LOL
ReplyDeleteCourse I feel like I am alone in that thought. I always enjoyed the un-packing part. Finding new places for things, where to hang pictures. My new views outside. My spot to have coffee in the morning...Can't wait to see yours!
Rita, Fabulous tablescape! I love the Myott Thanksgiving China. What a great blessing to find this treasure.
ReplyDeleteThe softer palette is very pleasing and the textures of your velvet placemats and wood chargers look beautiful on the pretty tablecloth. I love the softness of the spiral beeswax candles that pick up the apricot flower colors in the Myott plates. The striped napkin from French Garden House was a perfect choice.
I am so glad you are mostly moved. I am exhausted thinking about your move but happy you have that behind you. Thank you for all you have done to keep this hop going.
You had me at the paisley tablecloth!!! Rita, I am so glad you are all moved in and can enjoy the holidays and some relaxing time now. Your table does give off a wonderful calm vibe and a very special place to gather for thankful times. Your soft color pallet is beautiful. Honestly I have never seen a more beautiful tom turkey plate!! Because let’s face it- turkeys are not the most attractive animal out there!! But these plates make him look wonderful!! I am very thankful that you are able to keep this group going and in the most organized way, even with the big move!! Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving!🧡
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting this hop! Your table is so inviting. I love the soft colors and your pumpkins on candlesticks is a clever centerpiece (I think I need to search for velvet pumpkins!). I hop your unpacking is going well and that you get to enjoy a relaxing Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteRita, and I'm grateful for YOU! Grateful that blogging led to our getting to know each other and friendship. Grateful for all the humor, stories and inspiration your posts have brought me. And grateful you hosted with huge hop while moving --- you're amazing! Not so grateful that your plate acquisitions have me longing for more dishes! Love those plates and the beautiful color palette of your tablescape. Never would have thought of using the gray placemats. As always, you are so talented in styling old with new, and different patterns and textures together.
ReplyDeleteRita, I know you are so thankful and happy to get the move behind you. Hopefully, the stress of not having to prepare and host Thanksgiving will give you time to relax and enjoy your new home and feel settled. Your score on the Myott Turkey dinnerware is amazing. It is beautiful sitting upon the CL velvet placemats with the ruffled FGH napkins. The velvet pumpkins are a lovely soft centerpiece! Thank you for hosting in the midst of a move. Your organization and attention to detail inspire me! I can’t wait to see your new home!
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely table, soft and subtle. The plates are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYour softer side of Thanksgiving is very calming, Rita. You certainly need that after your big move. What a treasure trove of dishes you found and shared with your one sister. I don’t know how you managed to host this party along with being in your new home!
ReplyDeleteOh Rita, your table is so serene and beautiful! The soft gray and white palette is lovely, and the Thanksgiving china you found is gorgeous! I have been so worried about you overdoing during your move, I do hope you can slow down now and relax and enjoy, although I suspect you still have many projects bouncing around in your mind :) I am thankful for our friendship and grateful that you have kept our blog hop going, thank you!
ReplyDeleteJenna
First, thanks again so much for hosting this blog hop! ESPECIALLY with all you have going on! To do this while trying to get moved is a feat few could pull off! AND to create a tablescape??!?!?! Superwoman Rita! As you pointed out, you NEED the calm and serene feeling this beautiful tablescape evokes. You have been "there" and back of late, and I hope things quiet down and come together quickly for you in your new home. Best wishes to you and your family this Thanksgiving holiday. Next year this time you will have had your fill of autumn and all it brings (literally) to the table!
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing to have this blog hop in the midst of moving. You go girl. Your table is beautiful. You never disappoint with your tablescapes. xoxo Kris
ReplyDeleteRita, your table is soft and inviting. I love its beautiful colors in the tablecloth, plate stacks, velvet pumpkins, and that it whispers Thanksgiving blessings:)
ReplyDeleteYou must be feeling those blessings with the house closing, the move behind you, and a new baby in the family!
Thanks again for making this special hop happen, and I wish for you a Happy Thanksgiving!
Your table is lovely in every way! My Pheasant plates are Queens and I love their images. I'd not seen the turkey ones -- that was a fabulous find! Your table has a lovely elegance and sense of peace and home to it. I'm glad you will finally get to decorate for a bit of autumn in your new home. You know we are all looking forward to the tour! I know this is a hugely busy time for you and so seeing a post is a bonus!
ReplyDeleteRita, many thanks for organizing this blog hop during your time of moving. I am so sorry you have missed fall. Your table is lovely. Such a score of those Myott Thanksgiving China, So glad you and your sister shared the bounty. I love velvet pumpkins especially the way you presented them. The overhead shot is lovely. Kudos to you for setting a fabulous thanksgiving table while you were moving. Next year you can relax and enjoy the beauty of fall. Thank you again for organizing all of us for this Thankful blog hop.
ReplyDeleteRita... I love those dishes. And what a wonderful Sister you are. Your table looks beautiful! Tres elegant! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteYour table is gorgeous! I love the velvet pumpkins!
ReplyDeleteWe are doing a move of a different kind. We must get as much as we can off the floors, because we are having the floors replaced. We need to pack up as much as we can and take everything to the local store-it place. Wish us luck, as we wish luck to you!
Rita, first off, thank you for organizing this tour. I'm having a great time hopping from table to table. You are the best organizer! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYour table is a favorite for me with the touches of soft blue and the turkey plates. I have two turkey plates, each a different pattern. I always thought it would be fun to have a different turkey plate at each place setting. If a few more happen to come my way, that may happen.
The Crown Linen velvet placemats have become favorites here. The blue is on our table as I type. They are perfect with the plates. You were fortunate to find a set. They also look great with velvet pumpkins.
Happy Holidays!
Rita, I appreciate you hosting the tour in the midst of your move. Your table is so lovely, and what a score on those plates! I know you're excited to be moved in and I'll forward to seeing more of your new home. Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteWith so many things on your to-do list you still made time to host this bloghop, we are truly thankful for you dear friend. I am loving the soft hue trend this fall. The china is gorgeous as are those adorable velvet pumpkins. Looking forward to seeing all the pretty tables you will style in your home. Wishing you and your family a Happy and safe Thanksgiving, How fun to celebrate with the new baby!
ReplyDeleteI love the serenity of your table and the harmonious colors and patterns you used. The soft blues and pinks in the plates are appealing and aren't usually seen in fall decor. The dinnerware was a great find -- and your sister is one lucky girl!
ReplyDeleteWhat I love best about your table, other than the Myott Thanksgiving china (super find, by the way), are the soft, muted colors: I love the grays and creams! I also love the neutral colors of your velvet pumpkins: stunning centerpiece! I'm so thankful for our friendship, Rita, and your willingness to host this blog hop considering all you have going on. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!
xo,
Ricki Jill
Your tablescape is gorgeous!! I’m especially impressed with the color palette you chose. Enjoy your holiday!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Rita! This is such a lovely tablescape with all the soft colors you chose. The Myott china is absolutely gorgeous and the muted tablecloth and placemats just set them off to perfection. And I'm in love with those velvet pumpkins. I can't believe that you did this in the middle of moving - you must be Superwoman! I'm so glad that your move is done - it must be such a relief. Hopefully you can enjoy the rest of fall and have a lovely celebration with your family. Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteKim, thank you so much, Superwoman is beyond me, but I appreciate the kind words. Each week I'm getting closer to making this house our home and tucking away all our belongings. Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
DeleteLove your pretty, neutral tablescape, Rita. Those ruffled placemats are so pretty as well as your stripped napkins. Thanks so much for hosting.
ReplyDeleteRita, Your Thanksgiving table is so soft and beautiful. I found a couple of salad plates in that pattern and they're on the table now. I love the pattern as it can be paired with so many different solid colors. Your feathered pumpkin is so pretty. I know you are relieved that you're coming down the home stretch with the move. Enjoy the rest of your week. Thanks for hosting the blog hop. Clara❤️

ReplyDeleteHello, Rita. Such a lovely table and I do love the soft colors. You did score at the estate sale, the dishes are grand. I have admired that pattern. You have well earned a restful and enjoyable holiday. This winter you can play in your new home and with Jacqueline and drool over seed and flower catalogues. Meanwhile, enjoy the remainder of autumn. We are to have snow Monday and Tuesday of next week.
ReplyDeleteRita, I just love the soft colors of your Thanksgiving tablescape. It sure lends to an intimate and cozy tablescape. Your Myott dinnerware find is so thrilling. What a beautiful set. It certainly has colors which you can use for various results for each year at Thanksgiving. DeleteRita, what an amazing estate sale find!!! Those Myott "Toms" are beautiful with the soft pink floral border. They were perfect for your soft and soothing table setting. I love the ruffled grey placemats, pink candles and the velvet pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteIt must be nice to have the move behind you...I know it can be so stressful! I'm happy to hear you can take a break from hosting this year and relax with your family. I can't wait to see your next tablescape in the new house! Happy Thanksgiving, my friend!
The above comment is from me, Rebecca of Zucchini Sisters. I'm not sure why it says unknown!
ReplyDeleteThe soft colors of your table are so elegant and comforting, Rita! I hope you are doing well.
ReplyDeleteRita, First, thank you again, for taking on this task! I certainly know what this entails. Now, those dishes! What a find! What a bargain! What a lovely table! The gray placemats pick up the gray on the turkey feathers perfectly. I certainly understand living under awkward conditions as you are in the middle of your move. My house is a big mess after the flood. My dining room currently is full of boxes of the new flooring. I certainly wish you all the best in your new home, I know you are going to enjoy settling in and making it yours!
ReplyDeleteHi Rita, I love every little detail of your beautiful table, and I'm so excited to feature your post this week at our Tuesday Turn About Link Party! Hope to see you there!
