Skeleton Duet Halloween Tablescape

Do you celebrate Halloween, big or small? If so, today I've got a treat for you!

Welcome to my blog, Panoply! Whether you're a loyal reader or new visitor, I invite you to explore all sorts of Halloween inspiration, served up on my Skeleton Duet tabletop, and as well on those of several other table enthusiasts. I'm hosting a Halloween tablescape blog hop, and all the participants' links can be found near the end of this post.

One of the best things about these tablescape blog hops is you can take inspiration in any form - big or small - and make it your own. Most of us tablescapers are happy to share our sources.
I am a big fan of Fiesta tableware, and it's manufactured here in my home state of West Virginia. That's where I found my salad plates. Mr. P. and I started dating through ballroom dancing, and so these Skeleton Duet plates add a sentimental flair to my table today. Almost thirty years ago (!) I was also a ballet dancer, and several years ago I set a table that was Tutu Fun with salad plates of skeletons in  tutus.

Oh my. Then came these guys, seen below. The skeleton candle holders were a fun find in Aldi's aisle of shame - you know, that aisle of those weekly finds that are here today, gone tomorrow? And the skeleton planters (WalMart) with creepy florals, complete with pinching bugs and Venus flytraps? They were assembled by a local small business woman. (Btw, anything I buy for Halloween is invariably passed along to my daughters, who both love decorating for this holiday, and usually host annual parties).
The glassware was practically given to me with Kohl's discounts and cash applied.
The napkin rings were embellished with magnets I had purchased for a prior Halloween tablescape.
The fireplace set a glow within the dining room, along with the battery operated candles.
On the fireplace ledge sits a crow perched upon another skeleton head.
The overall table took on a monochromatic appearance once I selected my chargers, dinner plates, table linens and runner. Introducing color with orange candles, for example, strayed from the aesthetic I ultimately was pleased with.
I most always try to capture my sources, mainly for memory, but also for potential outlets readers can shop, if desired. I am a non-revenue blog.

This tablescape and blog hop is dedicated to our beloved Mary McCachern, creator of the blog Home is Where the Boat Is. Mary passed away on September 27th after a fierce health battle. Her husband David wrote a final post on her blog, and you can read it here. Mary leaves behind her husband, her Bichons, and other family members, but her catalog of complete inspiration on all things tablescaping, gardening, potting shed, pups, lake life, florals, cooking/baking and antiquing will be cherished for years to come. While Mary is undoubtedly creating lovely tables for the choir of angels who welcomed her into the most beautiful gardens imaginable, our tables are left with one empty seat. Mary, please save me a seat. 💔

I hope you enjoy all the Halloween inspiration from the participating bloggers listed below. Halloween was also one of Mary's favorite holidays to celebrate.
