Spring Tablescape: A Blooming Celebration

Welcome, readers! Today we're getting a jumpstart on spring with inspiring ideas for tablescaping. What is tablescaping, you ask? Simply put, it's table setting in artful, decorative ways. Tablescaping can be accomplished with use of elements that complement your home's style - by event or season - or it can be with decorations created or purchased for a special occasion theme. In this case, we're getting set for spring season with a Blooming Celebration!
The spring chicks are hard at work, readying the table 'garden' for both foods and flowers. It's time for pulling out mowers and leveling out the grass lawns, often scattered with wild tufts of onion sprouts this time of year. Tools are pulled out and assessed for another season of work.
Tulips are blooming, and the promise of more flowers to come are evident with buds and foliage emerging on the twiggy branches of prior years' plants.
Watering cans are pulled from storage and back out onto the porches and near sheds, ready to quench the thirsty earth, or maybe used to house a plant or two.
Birds are happily looking at new real estate prospects on where to nest for the season..
Gardeners are planning and planting early vegetables for optimal yields: lettuce, kale, carrots, radishes, beets, broccoli, cauliflower, eggplant, and tomatoes.
It truly is a season of promise. It's a blooming celebration!
Have you caught spring fever yet? If so, I've got just the remedy for you! Be sure to see the list of table stylists' links beneath the graphic below, leading to a full bouquet of spring table inspiration! I'd like to thank Chloe Crabtree of the blog, Celebrate and Decorate, for her lead in organizing all the stylists for today's tablescaping ideas.
I do hope you enjoy the sense of rebirth which spring can so easily inspire. Take a walk, look for the signs, and find some joy in nature's awakening.
I like to add my source list to tables I create, just so you can see the many venues where elements can be gathered from to create a look that's varied. Many of mine are things I've had for several years, but some are recent purchases. I don't normally add links, as none of these are sponsoring vendors.

  1. So much for this garden girl to love Rita! What adorable Spring Bouquet Salad Plates, perfect for a blooming celebration table paired with your MKC chicks and eggs, wheelbarrow server of veggies, moss runner and twiggy flatware. I love your dialogue too...my watering cans, tools, shed and porches are all in need of a spring cleaning and refresh once (if?) this rain is done! As always it’s a treat to join you at the table and blog hop with you. ♥

  14. What pretty china! And a perfect spring table. You're ready for Easter, I think. The birds, chicks, darling. And I really am loving your china and of course tulips. Because -- well, in spring, tulips are IT!

  15. Oh Rita you've captured the spirit of spring so well! I do love that dish pattern and your beautiful tulips! That moss runner was brilliant (I may have to borrow that idea!). Love your narrative to your post. I wish spring was further along here but we're still looking at snow (and some grass is now exposed) so soon enough it will happen here too!

  16. Hello Rita, love your garden inspired post. The plates are so cute with the twig flatware. The birds are chirping and soon will be making nests. The moss runner is lovely. I have that same wheelbarrow. You have decked out perfectly for a spring tasting. Tulips are so graceful and they certainly grace your pretty table. Happy March.

  17. Rita, I love your story which reveals the unfolding of Spring. You had me so involved in the many aspects of Spring. Your tablescape surely exemplifies your beautiful arrival of Spring. Are those lovely floral plates from the Debbie Mumm collection? They add such a cottage-style, whimsy and are perfect for the season's growth and beauty. I love all the sweet details--a little shovel and rake and black and white decorated eggs. It is such a welcoming Spring table. Happy Spring!

  18. Rita, I see you've transferred you garden from your old home to the loft's table! Beautifully and cleverly done! I particularly like how you created the centerpiece with all those fun elements. And of course, those plates are just perfect for a spring garden.

  19. I just loved your spring floral plates. Your tablescape made me smile! I especially love spring flowers; winter is TOO long here. I finally figured out why God gives me daffodils with 8" long stems (even though the catalog says 18-22"). I have to get down on my knees to smell them; my Higher Power has such a sense of humor and keeps me humble! In Maine we have a combo of muddy walks with dirty snowbanks. Up to 52 degrees right now! Although I've got several spring silk bouquets going, it still feels like winter here!
